Grey Déjeuner; R Williamson. acrylique on canvas; 30” wide x 40” tall; 9/23

A recent acrylic painting, started last spring and put away for a while. Its completion is due more to the fact that our autumn rains are now here than the opening of Manet/Degas at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. … but it probably didn’t hurt either.

While the appearance of Manets ‘Olympia’ is getting all the press, one of his studies for ‘Dejeuner sur L’Herbe’ is on display as part of the show.
