Drone Comb 1

Drone Comb 1; (almost done state); R Williamson; scrap wood, plywood, acrylic gel, masonite; 46” wide x 34” tall; 7/23

A dimensional wall sculpture piece, near completion. The first of several that will work with honeycomb cell shapes, and sometimes including the bees that make them. This is almost 4 feet wide by almost 3 feet tall. The cell walls are raised up from the backing to give a little extra dimensionality, although that is hard to see in these straight on snapshots.

This will soon be hanging out at the Lodge at Saint Edwards as part of the summer exhibition there, along with the Hive Mind painting series from the spring.
